Jack is an amazing artist. He's got a good eye, and good creative ability. He took the above photograph of me while we were driving down 395 this fall, he bought me a replica 1917 spy glass and hand-sewed a heavy-duty pouch for carrying it on my hikes through the backcountry, and this morning I woke up to the below Etch-A-Sketch on my bed:
I dropped him off at the train station this morning - we'll be meeting up in Chicago to continue the return journey together. The holidays are over, and I've got a few more days before I begin the train trek back to California. It's been fun, it's been busy, and it'll be nice to settle down once more. Granted, there's still a few more weeks of limbo before my job begins, but I think it'll be a bit more relaxed than the last few weeks. At least, I hope so.
This will probably be my last post for awhile - possibly for the month. Happy New Year to everyone!
Until next time!
